About the Artist…
Private Lessons…

Takako Miyashita has a unique style of disciplined freedom of expression.  She uses flowers and other materials in unusual ways which create an interplay of objects and space that conveys both movement and inner peace.

Takako studied art at the Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo, Japan, before moving to the United States in 2000. Soon after coming to the United States, she began studying Ikebana with Soho Sakai who is the highest ranked teacher in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana and an instructor at San Francisco City College. Takako received a teaching certificate from the Sogetsu School in Japan. She has recently opened a studio in which she gives private lessons to both beginning and advanced students.

Takako gives private lessons which help a student develop their individual style, first mastering the basics of the art and then overcoming intellectual and social constrictions to allow their inner vision to emerge through the medium of flowers and structural objects.  Contact me now for hourly rates .
